Abstract:
A manufacturing device for manufacturing a laser light attenuation device is configured from: a holding device (L-shaped holding parts HA, HB) which performs initial setting of a distance between opposing surfaces of two prisms A, B by pressing the opposing surfaces against with each other directly or with a spacer having a predetermined thickness therebetween; an adjustment mechanism (actuator 4) which, with the state of the initial setting as a reference, adjusts the ratio of a light output emitted from ether of the prisms A, B to a light output incident on the prism A, by generating and coupling near-field light at the opposiing surfaces of the prisms A, B; and an attenuation measurement system which measures the ratio between the light outputs. Consequently, an attenuation-variable light attenuator with excellent durability and practical utility can be implemented at low cost.
