Abstract:
Provided in the present application are a map switching method and apparatus, and a server, a storage medium and a program product. The method comprises: a scheduling server receiving a map switching request, which is sent by a client by means of an access server and a first map server, wherein the map switching request instructs to switch, to a second map, a first map which is operated by the client, the first map corresponding to the first map server, and the second map corresponding to a second map server; sending session data and character data to the second map server, wherein the session data is used by means of the second map server to create a session with the client, and the character data is used by means of the second map server to create a virtual character in the second map; sending a route setting request to the access server, wherein the routing setting request is used for requesting the access server to set the route of the client to point to the second map server; and sending a second map switching response to the client.
