Abstract:
A marine engine propulsion device (10) is mounted outboard at the rear end of a ship. The engine propulsion device (10) includes: a power generation unit (13); a power transmission unit (17) disposed under the power generation unit (13); a propulsive force generation unit (28) disposed under the power transmission unit (17); and a trim angle adjusting mechanism (25). The power generation unit (13) has an engine (11) provided with a crank shaft (11C). The crank shaft (11C) is disposed approximately in parallel and approximately horizontally with respect to the front-rear direction of the ship. The power transmission unit (17) includes a power transmission mechanism forming a linear power transmission route (D2) extending from around a front end portion of the crank shaft (11C) to around a front end portion of the propulsive force generation unit (28). The propulsive force generation unit (28) includes a propeller shaft (22) extending rearward from the power transmission unit (17), and a propeller (27) disposed at the rear portion of the propeller shaft (22).
