Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a mask in which adhesion to the face surface during wearing is increased without an increase in bulkiness when packaged, and which can be easily manufactured. [Solution] A mask 1 comprises: a filter part 2 comprising an air-permeable sheet material, at least one pleat being formed extending in the lateral direction, the pleat widening in the vertical direction during wearing to cover at least the nose and mouth; a face contact body 3 formed in a ring shape from an elastically deformable plate material, a circumferential edge part of the ring shape being joined to the filter part 2, the face contact body 3 contacting the face surface when worn, and an opening 21 being formed in the face contact body 3 at a position corresponding to at least the nose and mouth; and hanging strings 4 hung around either the head or the ears, the hanging strings 4 attaching the filter part and the face contact body to the face surface. The mask 1 is configured so that when the filter part 2 is widened in the vertical direction, the face contact body 3 elastically deforms so as to follow vertically, and the left and right parts of the face contact body 3 elastically deform and fit closely along the shape of the face surface.
