Description:
Masking cover for an exit of power supply cables in a skirting board The subject of the invention is a masking cover for an exit of power supply cables, particularly for power supply cables exiting a skirting board.

There are known skirting boards with finishing elements masking the outside and inside corners of touching skirting boards and elements masking contact surface of skirting boards.

These elements mask contact points of neighbouring skirting boards in a manner pleasing to the eye.

The Patent Application No. P-349653 describes masking elements, fastened on a connecting bracket with a flexible tenon and lodges supporting power supply cables.

The essential portion of the solution covered by the invention consists in that the masking cover, has the main external sheathing which in its lower part corresponds with the shape of the skirting board and lateral sheathings which fully correspond with the shape of the skirting board.

The masking cover has ribs with slots and catches for fastening to the connecting brackets of the skirting board. The main external sheathing with its sides forms a channel, preferably with a rectangular profile. The sides of the channel are connected with a crosspiece with its upper edge located below the surface of the masking cover, and the crosspiece has an installation opening providing additional fastening of the masking cover. It is advantageous when the sides of the masking cover are placed on extension of the ribs.

A variant of the masking cover as covered by the invention has the main external sheathing which in its lower part corresponds with the shape of the skirting board and together with its sides forms a channel, preferably with a rectangular profile. The sides of the channel are connected with a crosspiece with its upper edge located below the surface of the masking cover, and the crosspiece has the installation opening for fastening of the masking cover. In that solution, the masking cover is tightly fastened to the skirting board by gluing.

The essential effect of the solution as described in the invention is that power supply cables, which exit the skirting board, may be directed to a power supply socket or power supply duct.

The masking cover as described in the invention may be used both in newly-built rooms and the old ones. In the latter case, one of skirting board should be shortened by an adequate section equal to the width of the masking element.

The subject of the invention is presented in a sample execution in the drawings, Fig. 1 presents the masking cover in a perspective projection from its exterior, Fig. 2 presents a perspective view of the other side of the masking cover, Fig. 3 presents a. masking cover fastened on the skirting board with cables exiting to a cable duct, Fig. 5 presents another masking cover with a radiant shape of the main sheathing, Fig. 6 presents a perspective projection of the other side of the masking cover from Fig. 5, Fig. 7 presents a perspective projection of the masking cover without fastening elements, Fig. 8 presents a perspective projection of the other side of the masking cover from Fig. 7, Fig. 9 presents the masking cover (from Fig. 7 and Fig. 8) fastened on a skirting board with exiting cables, and Fig. 10 presents another variant of the masking cover.

The masking cover 1 (1', 1", 1"') has the main external sheathing 2 (2', 2", 2"') and lateral sheathings 3 fully corresponding with the shape of the skirting board 4. The lateral sheathings 3 mask ends of the skirting boards 4. The main external sheathing 2 (2', 2", 2"') corresponds with the shape of the skirting board only in its lower part. The masking cover has ribs 5 with slots 6 and catches 7 and is fastened on connecting brackets 8 of the skirting board.

The main external sheathing 2 of the masking cover with its sides 9 which are on extension of the ribs 5 (Fig 1 to Fig. 6) form the channel 10 with a rectangular profile, in which cables 11 exit the area behind the skirting board 4. The sides 9 of the masking cover are connected with the crosspiece 12 with its upper edge 13 located below the upper surface 14 of the masking cover, and the crosspiece has the opening 15 providing its additional fastening to the wall. The masking cover is essentially fastened to the connecting brackets 8 of the skirting board. The main edge 13 of the crosspiece 12 supports the cable duct 16. In the event that a cable socket is installed directly over the skirting board, the cable box 17 rests directly on the upper surface of the masking cover 1.

Fig. 7, Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 present a variant of the masking cover 1', 1", which is fastened directly to the wall or glued to the skirting board.

The masking cover 1"' (Fig. 10) with the main sheathing 2"'has no lateral sheathings, and ends of the skirting boards are masked by the sheathing 2"'and sides 9 of the masking cover.
