Abstract:
This mass spectrometry device comprises a sample stage, an irradiation unit for irradiating energy rays onto a sample and ionizing a component of the sample while maintaining position information for the sample in the region irradiated by the energy rays, an extraction electrode for using a potential difference with the sample stage to extract the ionized sample from the surface of the sample, an MCP for releasing electrons corresponding to the ionized sample, an imaging unit for acquiring an image on the basis of the electrons released by the MCP, and a control unit for controlling the operations of the irradiation unit, extraction electrode, and imaging unit. After energy rays have been irradiated by the irradiation unit, the control unit changes the potential of the extraction electrode at a timing corresponding to a component under detection and causes the imaging unit to acquire an image to be analyzed in a period corresponding to the component under detection.
