Abstract:
A sky-hoverable communication relay device performs MU-MIMO wireless communication with a plurality of terminal devices present in a cell achieves an improvement in the communication quality of the entire cell and expansion in the system capacity, even when the number of terminal devices present in the cell increases, while suppressing an increase in the overhead of terminal devices and communication relay devices. The communication relay device receives uplink signals from each of a plurality of terminal devices via an array antenna, estimates angle information indicating the directions of the terminal devices, for each of the plurality of terminal devices, selects the terminal device to be assigned to each of a plurality of radio resources used for downlink on the basis of the estimation result of the angle information, calculates a downlink beamforming weight on the basis of the estimation result of the angle information, and transmits a downlink signal to the terminal device via the array antenna, on the basis of the beamforming weight for the terminal device and the radio resource allocated to the terminal device.
