Abstract:
A master cylinder for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a cylinder housing; a piston installed in the cylinder housing to be capable of reciprocal movement; and a sealing member installed between the cylinder housing and the piston. On the outer surface of the piston, a plurality of sloped surfaces are formed sloped with respect to the central axis of the piston to be continuously disposed along the forward-moving direction of the piston. On the sloped surfaces, from among the plurality of sloped surfaces, which slope toward the inside of the piston in the forward-moving direction of the piston and which support the sealing member that is pressed by internal pressure in the cylinder housing applied from the front when the piston moves forward or backward, through-holes are respectively formed at positions on mutually different rows along the lengthwise direction of the piston.
