Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a master on which a chosen pattern is formed. [Solution] A master manufacturing method comprising: a step for forming a thin film layer on the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical or columnar substrate; a step for generating a control signal corresponding to an object on the basis of an input image that depicts the object; a step for forming a thin film pattern corresponding to the object on the thin film layer by irradiating laser light on the thin film layer on the basis of the control signal; and a step for forming a pattern corresponding to the object on the outer circumferential surface of the substrate using the thin film layer on which the thin film pattern has been formed as a mask.
