Abstract:
The present invention provides a mat material which is composed of inorganic fibers that are impregnated with an inorganic binder and an organic binder, and which is characterized in that if w1A is the weight ratio of the inorganic binder to the weight of the whole mat material and w1B is the weight ratio of the organic binder to the weight of the whole mat material, the ratio (w1B/w1A) of the weight ratio w1B of the organic binder to the weight ratio w1A of the inorganic binder satisfies the condition (1) or (2) described below. (1): 0 < w1B/w1A ≤ 0.8
