Abstract:
A material with high-temperature oxidation resistance consisting mainly of MoSi¿2? with excellent brittle resistance which comprises an MoSi¿2? base or a base comprising 70 wt.% or more MoSi¿2? as the main component, wherein in X-ray diffractometry (bulb: Cu, characteristic line: K$g(a)) of the base, the diffraction intensity for the main Si peak (2$g(u)=28.440°, according to JCPDS) is not higher than 1/100 that for the main MoSi¿2? peak (2$g(u)=44.684°) and the diffraction intensity for the main Mo¿5?Si¿3? peak (2$g(u)=38.405°, according to JCPDS) is 1/300 to 1/10 that for the main MoSi¿2? peak (2$g(u)=44.684°).
