Abstract:
When a high efficiency induction motor is used, the effect of reduction in power consumption is maximized. To this end, a mechanical apparatus having an induction motor and a speed reduction mechanism according to the present invention is adapted such that in changing a conventional induction motor to a high efficiency induction motor, the reduction ratio of a reduction gear is increased so that the mechanical apparatus provides the same rotational speed as that available when the conventional induction motor is used, thereby allowing the mechanical apparatus to provide the same output as that provided when the conventional induction motor is used. This permits the mechanical apparatus such as a pump or fan to be operated under the same load conditions as those required when the conventional induction motor is used. It is thus possible to maximize the effect of reduction in power consumption by increasing the efficiency of the motor.
