The proposed mechanical code lock comprises the following elements: a housing (1); a bolt element (5) mounted in guide elements in the housing, the bolt element being provided with a groove (18); a code assembly including an operating drum (12) with radial recesses (13, 14), one of which (14) is deeper, connected by an intermediate cylinder (23) to an outer code knob (17); an analyser in the form of a ball (15) situated beween the bolt element (5) and the operating drum (12); means for sliding and locking the bolt element on whose axis (9) are mounted an outer (10) and an inner (11) turning knob; and a locking mechanism in the form of a spring-loaded shaped lath (20) on which are rotatably mounted an outer code knob (17) whose profiled aperture receives the profiled end (32) of the intermediate cylinder (23), and an opening button (21) secured on the axis (9) and connected by a coupling sleeve (22) to the coaxial outer code knob (10). When the lock is in the open position and the bolt element (5) is drawn back, the ball-analyser (15) is situated between the groove (18) and one of the small radial recesses (13), which prevents the bolt element from sliding. To unlock the lock by turning the operating drum (12), a deep recess (14) is provided opposite the ball-analyser (15) which allows the bolt element to slide into its open position.
