Abstract:
A mechanical joint 1 according to the present invention comprises a PIN joint 3 having a pipe-like shape and a BOX joint 5 that is joined to the PIN joint 3. A step part 9 is formed on the proximal side of the PIN joint 3. The mechanical joint 1 is configured to reach a fitting complete state as a distal part 10 of the BOX joint 5 abuts on the step part 9. The mechanical joint 1 is provided with: annular grooves 11 of one or more stages respectively formed in an outer circumferential surface of the PIN joint 3 and in an inner circumferential surface of the BOX joint 5 so as to oppose each other in the fitting complete state, the annular grooves 11 being inclined with respect to the pipe axial direction; and a ring member 13 that can be stored in the annular groove 11 of the PIN joint 3 or the BOX joint 5 so as not to hinder insertion of the PIN joint 3 into the BOX joint 5, and that can be disposed across the PIN joint 3 and the BOX joint 5 in the annular groove 11 in the fitting complete state.
