The invention relates to a mechanism for hanging and adjusting folding doors. According to the invention, an upper guide section (1) is equipped with a traveller (2) for one of the leaves (12) of the door and a pivot hinge for the other leaf. The aforementioned guide section (1) comprises a pair of upper partitions (5) which define a central, longitudinal groove which is used to guide the small wheels or bearings (7) with a vertical axle which is mounted to the traveller (2) together with the wheels with a horizontal axle (3), in order to enable the movement of said traveller. The height of the hinge (11) of the traveller (2) can be adjusted in relation to the traveller. Moreover, the lower end of said hinge (11) and of the pivot hinge terminate in a smooth ball bearing (21) which rests on a pair of flat bars (16). The flat bars (16) are mounted such that they can move longitudinally inside a section (13) which is inserted into the upper edge of each leaf of the door. In this way, the flat bars can be moved towards the exterior of the leaf in order to adjust the effective length of the hinges and to level the door, and said bars can be subsequently fixed in a working position with the use of screws (17).
