Abstract:
Provided are: a medical device which not only has excellent flexibility but also excellent anti-interfacial peeling effects between members adjacent in a radial direction; and a method for manufacturing the medical device. Such a medical device is formed by a tubular main body (210) of a catheter (200) which is the medical device comprising: an inner layer (211) having a main lumen (220) therein; a coil layer (230) formed by winding a wire (231) that is non-circular in cross-sectional shape in a longitudinal direction; an outer layer (212); and a sub lumen (280) through which an operating line (270) is inserted. The wire (231) of the coil layer (230) has an arc-shaped inner edge (B) in cross-sectional shape in longitudinal section of the catheter (200), has a maximum width direction in the cross-sectional shape that is slanted at an angle to the longitudinal direction, and is wound such that the wire (231) fits into the inner layer (211) and outer layer (212).
