Abstract:
To provide a medical device for removing unnecessary matter generated within blood vessels, such as arteries and veins, i.e. occluding material causing stenosis or blockage of the blood vessels. This medical device comprises: a removal member positioned at the tip of a long body, and equipped with a proximal tip and a distal tip that extends from the removal member; and a rotatable drive shaft which is equipped with a distal tip and a proximal tip, and which is inserted into the removal member. The distal tip or the proximal tip are fixed to the drive shaft, and the other tip, which is not fixed to the drive shaft, is able to slide on the drive shaft.
