Abstract:
Provided is a medical guide wire which comprises a core wire (10) that includes a proximal end side large diameter portion (11), a distal end side small diameter portion (13, 15, 17) and a step portion (12) and a coil spring (20) that is mounted on the periphery of the distal end side small diameter portion of the core wire (10) along an axis direction, wherein in a state where a rear end (22) of the coil spring (20) abuts the step portion (12) of the core wire (10), at least a front end portion and a rear end portion of the coil spring (20) are fixed to the distal end side small diameter portion of the core wire (10) and a rounded surface (121) is formed between the distal end side small diameter portion (13) and the step portion (12) of the core wire (10). According to this medical guide wire, during production thereof, the coil spring can be mounted at a predetermined position in the distal end side small diameter portion of the core wire accurately and quickly.
