Abstract:
It is possible to improve data management efficiency when storing medical image data classified into groups in a storage device having a plurality of data storage regions. Upon reception of medical image data classified into groups by series or the like from modality, a CPU (10) analyzes the header information in the medical image data and extracts patient information, examination information, and series information. Then, by using the patient information, the examination information, and the series information, calculation is performed to decide the data capacity required for storing the past medical image data generated when the same portion of the same patient was imaged with the same modality from the patient information, the examination information, the series information, and an image management DB (71). Next, a partition having a capacity equal to or greater than the calculated data capacity is identified from the storage devices (80, 90) and one group of the medical image data is stored in the identified partition all at once.
