The present invention relates to a medical image processing apparatus and a medical image processing method which are for a surgical navigator and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for processing an image provided during use of a surgical navigator. To this end, the present invention provides a medical image processing apparatus and a medical image processing method using the same, the medical image processing apparatus for a medical navigation device, comprising: a position tracking unit for acquiring position information of the medical navigation device inside a target body; a memory for storing medical image data generated on the basis of a medical image of the target body; and a processor for setting a region of interest on the basis of the medical image data-based position information of the medical navigation device and generating partial medical image data corresponding to the region of interest.
