Abstract:
A medical observation system comprises: an imaging device (2) having a time-of-flight sensor capable of detecting the distance to an object and an imaging element; a lens barrel (rigid scope: 3) having illumination optics and imaging optics, the lens barrel being interchangeably attached to the imaging device (2); and a light source device (4) connected to the illumination optics of the lens barrel through a light guide. The light source device (4) includes a first light source (41) for emitting first light that is introduced into the illumination optics to thus illuminate the object, and a second light source (42) for emitting second light that is detected by the time-of-flight sensor. The time-of-flight sensor receives the second light that is reflected from the object and passes through the imaging optics of the lens barrel.
