Abstract:
A medical suture material to be fitted to an autoclip applier having staple lines. The material is produced by sewing a sheetlike suture material with a suture so as to form a sac. The main suture material comprises materials having flexibility and stretchability to some extent, such as nonwoven fabrics like felt, woven fabrics or knits, and particular examples thereof include bioabsorbable polymers such as polyglycolic acid and certain biological membranes, for example, organ protective membranes such as pericardia. As this material is in the form of a sac with its end enclosed, it is prevented from causing offset due to shrinkage in the direction of insertion thereof into an autoclip applier.
