Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a medium that can be used to culture hepatocytes with the metabolic function of the hepatocytes maintained; a production method for hepatocytes using the medium; and hepatocytes obtained by the production method. The present invention provides a medium that is for culturing hepatocytes, and that contains one or more of a ROCK inhibitor, nicotinamide, and an analog thereof, wherein the contained amount of serum components is less than 5 vol%, the contained amount of an EGF receptor activator is less than 1 ng/mL, and the contained amount of an ALK inhibitor is less than 0.1 μmol/L.
