Abstract:

A method for producing a medium provided on a matter to be identified for identifying the matter through recognizing the medium visually or with an identifying device, which comprises providing the matter to be identified, a seal to be attached to the matter or a base to be hot-stamped on the matter with a polymeric cholesteric liquid crystal, patterning the polymeric cholesteric liquid crystal itself into a desired shape and/or providing an upper or under layer of the polymeric cholesteric liquid crystal with a graphic such as a desired pattern or letter. The method can be used for preparing the above medium and matter to be identified having improved fine view and also enhanced capability of being identified and of preventing forgery.
