Abstract:
The present invention provides: a polarizing film in which a resin containing a dichroic dye is dispersed in a thermoplastic resin through a melt extrusion process, the dichroic dye is oriented through a dry drawing process, and the resin containing the oriented dichroic dye is continuously/discontinuously and randomly dispersed, in a needle form, in the thermoplastic resin in a predetermined direction; and a method for manufacturing the polarizing film. The present invention causes a resin composition including a polarizing function to be present in another resin, and thus does not require attachment of an additional protective film to a skin layer of a polarizing film, and enables the manufacture of a polarizing film through melt extrusion. Since the polarizing function is uniformly dispersed in the resin, the present invention is advantageous in reducing stains and the like on a polarizing film. In addition, a melt-extrusion-type manufacturing method can remarkably reduce environmental pollution and the like.
