Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a topical agent containing memantine that reduces skin irritation, has excellent skin permeability, and is suited to long-term, continuous administration. The topical agent pertaining to the present invention is a transdermally absorbable liquid containing, in addition to memantine or a salt thereof, 0.05-1.5 wt% of phosphatidyl choline, 35-55 wt% of propylene glycol, 18-30 wt% of glycerin, and 22-32 wt% of water. Skin irritation can increase when the water content is less than 22 wt%, and skin permeability can decrease when the water content exceeds 32 wt%. Skin irritation can increase when the glycerin content is less than 18 wt%, and the skin permeability can decrease when the glycerin content exceeds 30 wt%.
