Abstract:
A membrane separation system according to the present invention comprises a first membrane separation module, a second membrane separation module, and a pressure adjustment device, wherein: the first membrane separation module and the second membrane separation module each have a semipermeable membrane and first and second chambers which are partitioned by the semipermeable membrane; in each of the first membrane separation module and the second membrane separation module, water contained in a liquid in the first chamber is transferred into the second chamber through the semipermeable membrane by pressurizing the liquid containing the water in the first chamber; the first chamber of the first membrane separation module and the first chamber of the second membrane separation module are coupled to each other by a flow path; the pressure adjustment device is provided in the middle of the flow path; in the pressure adjustment device, the pressure of the liquid discharged from the first chamber of the first membrane separation module is adjusted; and the liquid the pressure of which has been adjusted is discharged to the first chamber side of the second membrane separation module.
