Abstract:
Conventionally, in order to prevent a user from becoming bored, a provider prepares a plurality of motivating messages for performing a predetermined behavior, such as a health behavior, and then provides a predetermined motivating message to the user. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a motivating message which is effective for each individual user. The present invention provides a message providing apparatus for providing a user with a motivating message for starting a predetermined behavior, the message providing apparatus comprising: a motivating effect presence/absence determination unit 12 for determining, on the basis of user characteristics, the presence or absence of a motivating effect with respect to a plurality of message groups having similar motivation tendencies for the user; and a message selecting unit 13 for selecting, on the basis of the result of determination by the motivating effect presence/absence determination means, a predetermined motivating message in a predetermined message group among the plurality of message groups.
