Abstract:
This metabolism measurement apparatus is provided with: a light source that outputs measurement light to be input into a living body; a light detector that detects the measurement light propagating through the living body and generates a detection signal corresponding to the intensity of the measurement light; and a calculation unit. The calculation unit determines a first parameter and a second parameter on the basis of the detection signal. The first parameter is a temporal relative change amount that depends on the concentration of O2Hb in blood and the volume of a blood vessel in an optical path. The second parameter is a temporal relative change amount that depends on the concentration of HHb in blood and the volume of a blood vessel in the optical path. The calculation unit determines, on the basis of the first and second parameters, a numerical value associated with the concentration of HHb in blood from which the influence of the volume of the blood vessel in the optical path is excluded. The calculation unit determines data associated with the level of metabolism on the basis of the numerical value.
