Abstract:

A metal-coated molded resin article comprising a molded article constituted of a poly(butylene terephthalate)-based resin composition and/or a polycarbonate-based resin composition and a metal film disposed on a surface of the molded article, wherein the resin compositions each include a reactive compound and/or a resin having a reactive functional group; and a metal-coated molded resin article comprising a molded article constituted of a poly(butylene terephthalate)-based resin composition and a metal film disposed on a surface of the molded article, wherein the metal film has a peel strength, as measured by the adhesive force testing method provided for in JIS H8630:2006 annex 1 (normative), of 9.0 N/cm or greater. A metal film having excellent adhesion can be formed by a dry-process treatment as a substitute for electroless plating on a surface of a molded poly(butylene terephthalate)-based-resin article and/or a molded polycarbonate-based-resin article.
