Abstract:
The present invention enables the achievement of a metal and/or ceramic/graphite-containing aluminum composite material which is obtained by complexing a carbon graphite material and an aluminum material, and which has high strength, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient at the same time, thereby being widely applicable in industrial fields; and the present invention has developed a technology for providing this material. A metal and/or ceramic/graphite-containing aluminum composite material that is obtained by complexing a molded body, which is formed from a material that is obtained by adding a silica-based binder to the outer side of a mixed powder that contains a non-amorphous graphite powder and a metal powder and/or a ceramic powder, with a melt of aluminum metal or an aluminum alloy, wherein the bending strength is 90 MPa or more, the thermal conductivity in the XY direction or in the Z direction is 240 W/m∙K or more, and the thermal expansion coefficient in the XY direction or in the Z direction is 6.0 ppm/K or less; and a method for producing this composite material.
