[0002] In order to achieve good grounding of a display device and ensure its reliable operation, one or more elastic components are usually provided between a ground plane of a PCB and the metal housing.

[0003] Such a structure not only has increased components, but also increases the cost and the assembling steps.

Summary of the Invention

[0004] Targeting the problems in the prior art, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a metal housing for an electronic device, which is provided with a bent portion facing a PCB of the electronic device. During assembling, one end of the bent portion passes through flux on the PCB and is in contact with a ground plane of the PCB, thereby eliminating the use of an independent component for the contact between the ground plane of the PCB and the metal housing, thus reducing the number of components, lowering the cost, reducing assembling steps, improving production efficiency, and providing more stable contact to ensure reliable operation of the electronic device.

[0005] The present invention provides a metal housing for an electronic device, which is provided with a bent portion formed by punching and facing a PCB of the electronic device. During assembling, one end of the bent portion passes through flux on the PCB and is in contact with a ground plane of the PCB.

[0006] Further, the end of the bent portion is not polished.

[0007] Further, the bent portion is a rectangle with rounded corners.

[0008] Further, two sides of the bent portion are cut into edges with a width smaller than or equal to 1 mm.

[0009] Further, the bending angle of the bent portion is greater than or equal to 85° and smaller than or equal to 95°.

[0010] The present invention also provides an electronic device, comprising a PCB and the metal housing for an electronic device described above.

[0011] Further, the metal housing is a rear cover.

[0012] Further, the distance between the position of a bent portion provided on the metal housing and a PCB is smaller than or equal to 4 mm.

[0013] Further, the length of the bent portion is greater than the distance between the position of the bent portion and a PCB, to ensure one end of the bent portion is in contact with a ground plane of the PCB.

[0014] Further, the electronic device is an instrument, an infotainment system, a display device, or a head-up display.

[0015] Compared with the prior art, the metal housing for an electronic device and the electronic device provided by the present invention have the following benefits: they are provided with a bent portion facing a PCB of the electronic device. During assembling, one end of the bent portion passes through flux on the PCB, and is in contact with a ground plane of the PCB, thereby eliminating the use of an independent component for the contact between the ground plane of the PCB and the metal housing, thus reducing the number of components, lowering the cost, reducing assembling steps, improving production efficiency, and providing more stable contact to ensure reliable operation of the electronic device.

[0020] Figure 5 is a local rear view (from the outside) of the bent portion on the rear cover of the electronic device shown in Figure 1.

[0021] Figure 6 is a perspective view of the bent portion on the rear cover of the electronic device shown in Figure 1. Detailed Description of the Embodiments

[0022] As shown in Figure 1, the electronic device of one embodiment of the present invention, for example, a display device, may also be an instrument, an infotainment system or a head-up display in other embodiments.

[0023] The display device comprises a panel 1, a display screen, a frame 2, a fixing bracket 3, a PCB 4, an energy absorbing module 5 and a rear cover 6, wherein the fixing bracket 3 is used to fix the PCB 4 in the frame 2, and the rear cover 6 is a metal housing.

[0024] As shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3, the rear cover 6 is provided with two bent portions 61 formed by punching and facing the PCB 4, of which the ends are not polished. The sharp edges formed after punching are maintained, so that during assembling the ends of the bent portions 61 pass through the flux on the PCB 4 and are in contact with a ground plane of the PCB 4, as shown in Figure 4.

[0025] The bent portions 61 formed by punching eliminate the use of an independent component for the contact between the ground plane of the PCB and the metal housing, thus reducing the number of components, lowering the cost, reducing assembling steps, improving production efficiency, and providing more stable contact to ensure reliable operation of the electronic device.

[0026] As shown in Figure 4, the bending angle of the bent portions 61 is greater than or equal to 85° and smaller than or equal to 95°. In this embodiment, the bending angle of the bent portions 61 is 90°. [0027] As shown in Figure 5 and Figure 6, in this embodiment, the bent portion 61 of the rear cover 6 is a rectangle with rounded corners.

[0028] As shown in Figure 5, two sides of the bent portion 61 are cut into edges with a width smaller than or equal to 1 mm.

[0029] As shown in Figure 3, the distance between the position of the bent portion 61 provided on the metal housing-rear cover 6 and the PCB is smaller than or equal to 4 mm.

[0030] The length of the bent portion 61 is greater than the distance between the position of the bent portion 61 and the PCB, to ensure the end of the bent portion 61 is in contact with the ground plane of the PCB 4.

[0031] The present invention provides a metal housing for an electronic device, which is provided with a bent portion formed by punching and facing a PCB of the electronic device. During assembling, one end of the bent portion passes through flux on the PCB, and is in contact with a ground plane of the PCB. The present invention also provides an electronic device. The metal housing for an electronic device and the electronic device provided by the present invention are provided with a bent portion facing a PCB of the electronic device.
