A metallocene complex represented by general formula [I] (for example, a metallocene complex which has a substituent at the 5-position of the indenyl ring and an optionally substituted furyl or thienyl group at the 2-position of the indenyl ring); a catalyst for olefin polymerization characterized by comprising the metallocene complex; a method for polymerizing an olefin characterized in that olefin polymerization or copolymerization is carried out using the catalyst for olefin polymerization; and so on.
