Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for obtaining a cathode active material having both high capacity and high stability reversibly by improving electrochemical properties of a lithium-rich metal oxide. The method according to the present invention comprises: a delithiation step of partially delithiating a Li-rich metal oxide represented by the following [chemical formula 1] and having a layered structure to form a plurality of Li vacancies in the crystal structure of the Li-rich metal oxide; and a thermal treatment step of thermally treating the delithiated Li-rich metal oxide to make a distribution of M' and/or M elements constituting the Li-rich metal oxide through diffusion.
