Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a technique of analyzing the oxygen consumption amounts and the oxygen consumption speeds in the microbial degradation process of waste water components. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] First, the oxygen consumption speed kX=KLa.(DOhf-highDOX) in the final block (blockX) containing a single BOD component alone is determined by using an approximation formula to the dissolved oxygen level change curve and the formulae ΔtX=tX-tX-1 and BODX=kX .ΔtX. Next, kX-1 in the second final block (blockX-1) containing two BOD components is determined in accordance with the formula kX-1= KLa.(DOhf-highDOX-1)-kX=KLa.(highDO-highDOX-1). By successively repeating these calculations till the first block, the oxygen consumption speed ki of each BOD component is determined by using the relationship ki= KLa.(highDOi+1-highDOi). At the same time, the BOD concentration of each BOD component pBODi is determined as pBODi=ki .tX .
