Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a method and apparatus for the crystallization of an organic compound through adiabatic cooling, which can attain a reduction in operation and equipment cost. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Crystal tanks (20A) and (20B) in which an organic-compound liquid mixture containing a refrigerant is subjected to an operation for adiabatically cooling and vaporizing the refrigerant and absorption condensers (10A) and (10B) which correspond to the crystal tanks (20A) and (20B) are used in combination to conduct operation stages. The crystal slurries respectively produced in the crystal tanks are discharged, while the vapors respectively generated in the crystal tanks (20A) and (20B) are pressurized with a compressor (30) to a pressure not lower than the operation pressures in the respective crystal tanks. The vapors pressurized are led to the absorption condenser (10A) or (10B) corresponding to the stage being performed. The condensate in a former stage is led to the corresponding crystal tank (20A) in the former stage. The crystal slurry discharged from the crystal tank (20A) in the former stage is treated with a solid-liquid separation means (40) to obtain crystals. The mother liquor thus separated is led to the absorption condenser (10B) in the latter stage. The condensate in the latter stage is led to the corresponding crystal tank (20B) in the latter stage and subjected to a crystallization operation. The crystal slurry discharged from the crystal tank (20B) in the latter stage is led to the crystal tank (20A) in the former stage.
