Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Downlink control information (DCI) size alignment for a scheduled cell with multiple scheduling cells. A includes receiving: first information for first fields of a first DCI format when on a primary cell (PCell) and second information for second fields of the first DCI format when on a secondary cell (SCell). The method further includes determining: a first size for the first DCI format on the PCell, a second size for the first DCI format on the SCell, and a first number of padding bits equal to an absolute difference between the first size and the second size. When the SCell is deactivated, the second size is determined based on a first reference downlink (DL) bandwidth part (BWP) for the SCell. The method further includes receiving the first DCI format in a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) reception on the PCell or the SCell.
