Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for estimating a direction of arrival of a radar received signal by using an antenna array extrapolation. In a ULA antenna in which N actual antennas are spaced at equal intervals d in a line, a transform matrix representing relationships between phases of received signals received by i-th (where i is a natural number of 1 or more) to (N-2+i)th antennas and a phase of a received signal received by (N-1+i)th antenna is obtained. A phase of a virtual received signal received by a new (N+i)th virtual antenna is generated by multiplying the obtained transform matrix by values corresponding to the phases of the received signals received by (i+1)th to (N-1+i)th antennas. A magnitude component of the virtual received signal received by the (N+i)th virtual antenna is obtained by averaging the magnitudes of the received signals received by the i-th to (N-1+i)th antennas. Obtaining the transform matrix, and obtaining the phase component and the magnitude component of the virtual received signal are repeatedly performed while increasing the number of virtual antennas i by one until the number i is equal to a predetermined threshold value (M). A DOA of the radar received signal is calculated by using the obtained virtual received signal and the received signal received from the actual antenna together as inputs to a DOA estimation algorithm.
