A method and apparatus for expanding a commodity search and recall. The method comprises: S1: acquiring a search query, and matching associated words according to words in the search query; S2: assembling the words in the search query and the associated words into a retrieval unit according to a preset rule; S3: matching commodities according to the retrieval unit, and acquiring commodity recall results; S4: classifying the commodity recall results, wherein the classification comprises accurately recalled commodities and fuzzily recalled commodities; and S5: dividing a search display region into an accurate display region and a fuzzy display region to respectively display the accurate recalled commodities and the fuzzy recalled commodities. By means of configuring different associated words for a search query according to a preset rule, the retrieval efficiency is improved. The method is applicable to a scene where there are a few accurately recalled commodities but there are more commodities recalled in extended words, and can ensure the display effect of an accurate recall result while ensuring the requirement of relevance, can increase the opportunity for exposure of an associated commodity, and can increase the overall single-commodity conversion rate.
