Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method and an apparatus for extracting or concentrating organism-derived components, the apparatus and method making it possible to sufficiently retain properties characteristic of an organism in the organism-derived components obtained through suppression of thermal change and oxidation of the components while performing a sterilization process appropriate for the organism. An apparatus 10 is provided with: a treatment chamber 11 which stores therein a peach P having a sarcocarp S containing a fruit juice J; a steam-generation part 12 which generates superheated steam that is to be filled in the treatment chamber 11; a reservoir part 13 which recovers, as a fruit juice J1, a portion of the juice J oozed from the sarcocarp S; a condensation part 15 which generates a second liquid material L2 by condensing the superheated steam that is discharged from the treatment chamber 11 and that contains some of the components constituting the peach P; and an extraction/concentration part 17 which extracts or concentrates a fruit juice J2 from the second liquid material L2.
