Abstract:
Ultra-fine powder is stored inside an air transportation tank (20), and compressed air is supplied from an air inlet (24) for fluidization so as to fluidize ultra-fine powder and to discharge it into a transportation piping (23). Ultra-fine powder is sent by transportation air to a meeting tank (30) at the other end of the transportation piping (23) and the weight of the transported powder is measured by a load cell (31). After the measurement has reached 90 % of a predetermined measurement, the feed quantity of transportation air is reduced and a bypass regulating valve (38) is regulated to carry out transporation at a reduced speed. When the measurement reaches 100 %, discharge to the transportation piping (23) is stopped. This method and apparatus can provide storage, constant-quantity batch transportation and automatic measurement of ultra-fine powder such as silica fume.
