A method and apparatus for implementing a confidential transaction in a blockchain. The method comprises: for a remittance transaction M, determining m assets to be spent that are held by a remitter (302); according to transfer amounts corresponding to remittees Q_1-Q_u, acquiring a pseudo public key and a pseudo private key that correspond to the remitter (304a); according to m assets held by a selected masked party i, obtaining a pseudo public key corresponding to the masked party i (304b); generating a linkable ring signature for the remittance transaction M according to a private key, a public key, the pseudo private key, and the pseudo public key that correspond to the remitter, and a public key and the pseudo public key corresponding to the masked party i, wherein the linkable ring signature comprises key images I_1-I_m, and the values of the key images I_1-I_m are related to the private key, the public key, and asset identifiers of the remitter (306).
