Abstract:
A method and apparatus for inhibiting generation of a congestion queue. The method may comprise: determining the queue length of a cache queue of an input port of a first network device, and the number of messages to be received by the first network device; determining a first time according to the queue length and the number of messages to be received, wherein the first time is a time when a second network device stops sending messages to the first network device; when it is determined, according to the queue length, that the cache queue is a congestion queue, updating the first time to a second time according to the degree of congestion of the cache queue; and sending the second time to the second network device. A cache queue of an input port is detected, such that the number of messages that enter a cyclic queue is reduced, thereby ensuring that there is residual cache space for the flow in a CBD ring flow, and ensuring that a data packet in the CBD ring can flow normally.
