Abstract:
In the manufacturing of a glass article GR by allowing a molten glass GM to pass through the inside of a transfer tube 12 to transfer the molten glass GM, the transfer tube 12 is provided with a tube edge part 14 that corresponds to an edge part as observed in the tube axis direction, a tubular part 15, and a connection part 16 that connects the tube edge part 14 to the tubular part 15, wherein the tube edge part 14 has a flange part 17 and a curved part 18 which extends from an inner peripheral edge 17a of the flange part 17 toward the tubular part 15 side and of which the diameter is reduced with the increase in distance of the transfer on the tubular part 15 side, and the tube edge part 14 is made from a material having smaller creep breaking strength and/or a rapid creep strain rate than that of the tubular part 15 as measured at 1500°C for 1000 hours.
