Abstract:
A method and apparatus for merging an infrared image and a visible light image, the method comprising: performing colour space conversion of the visible light image to acquire the luminance component thereof (S110); extracting edge information of the luminance component of the visible image, and merging the edge information and the luminance component of the infrared image to acquire a merged luminance component (S120); pseudo-colouring the infrared image to acquire a pseudo-coloured infrared image (S130); performing colour space conversion of the pseudo-coloured infrared image to acquire the colour tone component and saturation component thereof (S140); and performing inverse colour space conversion of the merged luminance component, the colour tone component, and the saturation component to acquire a pseudo-coloured merged image (S150). A merged image acquired on the basis of said method can retain both the detail information of the visible light image and the temperature information of the infrared image.
