Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for operating a semiconductor light source (430). In particular the present disclosure relates to a current regulator (440) for regulating a current flowing through a light emitting diode device. The current regulator (440) includes a first switch (442) for receiving a first current flowing through the semiconductor light source (430); and a control circuit (448) coupled to the first switch (442) adapted to provide a second current proportional to the first current. The current regulator (440) is adapted to regulate the first current using the second current.
