Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide a method for pasting data, comprising: displaying a first application, at least one character being displayed on the first application; receiving an operation of a user on one or more first characters in the at least one character; and displaying a second application in response to the operation on the one or more first characters in the at least one character, the second application comprising a search box. The one or more first characters are displayed in the search box, and the semantic meaning of the one or more first characters is associated with the second application. An electronic device in the embodiments of the present invention can automatically paste data in a search box of an application, thereby avoiding a manual paste operation of a user.
