Abstract:
Disclosed in embodiments of the present application is a protection switching method, which provides a way for transferring a protection switching message on an SRv6 data plane. In this way, a first node can switch, after a sending failure occurs to a certain end-to-end transmission path for forward service traffic of the first node, the transmission path for the forward service traffic thereof to another end-to-end transmission path, and the forward service traffic is sent by means of the switched transmission path. By means of the way, the first node itself only needs to store information of the another transmission path, and an intermediate node does not need to maintain a large amount of path state information and path configuration information, which is conductive to the deployment, operation and maintenance of an SRv6 network.
