Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing polymer particles, which is characterized in that a polymer solution obtained by dissolving a polymer in a good solvent is continuously or intermittently mixed with a polymer nonsolvent, which does not dissolve the polymer but has compatibility with the good solvent, and the resulting liquid mixture of the polymer solution and the polymer nonsolvent is caused to flow down within a generally vertically arranged tubular body, thereby completing precipitation of polymer particles. Also disclosed is an apparatus for producing polymer particles. The method enables production of polymer particles which have a relatively narrow particle size distribution even when kept in the form of a dispersion.
