Abstract:

In a method and apparatus for producing a twisted bead wire, a steel wire (3) is wound on a circular core (2), rotatable in a circumferential direction, in a diameter smaller than the diameter of a circular core (2). The steel wire (3) is moved relatively in a direction approaching the circular core (2) that rotates in a circumferential direction. At one side of the steel wire (3) with respect to a plane transverse to the circular core (2), the movement is made along substantially a radial direction of the circular core (2), and the steel wire (3) is made to pass through the circular core (2). At the other end, the steel wire is taken up while it is repeatedly moved in a quasi-linear reciprocating manner where the wire is moved in a departing direction, and thus the wire is spirally twisted. The steel wire can be twisted while being made to follow the circular core (2) without causing torsional stress in the wire, so that a desired twisted bead wire can be appropriately and easily produced.
